Louis La Cava’s wins prestigious Florida Trial Lawyer of the Year award. Lou La Cava was nominated by the Tampa Chapter of the Florida Board of Trial Advocates for the FLABOTA Trial Lawyer of the year award. Each of the 11 local chapters in Florida presented a nominee for the award. The award was to be presented at the FLABOTA annual meeting in Orlando in July but unfortunately that meeting was cancelled as a result of COVID 19. The award will now be presented during the FLABOTA meeting on October 23rd and 24th in St. Augustine, Florida. Each FLABOTA member is also a member of ABOTA the national organization as well as their local chapter.
FLABOTA is unique in that its membership is divided evenly between plaintiff and defense civil trial lawyers. Membership in ABOTA is by invitation only and includes many of the finest civil trial lawyers in the United States. The presentation included information on the types of medical errors that are likely to lead to litigation, how to avoid them and other topics covering medical malpractice litigation in Florida. Physicians who attended this presentation obtained obtained two hours of continuing medical education.
